The Union provides a range of support and advice for Black teachers, whether it is via the annual Consultation Conference that attracts hundreds of members from across the UK or via the suite of publications and training courses that address all forms of discrimination.

The NASUWT uses the term Black in a political and inclusive sense to describe those who self-identify as African, Caribbean and Asian identities and those with a common and direct history of racism, racist oppression and diminished opportunities in today’s society.

The NASUWT has two representatives on the TUC Race Relations Committee.
