Members of NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union at Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School  in Lincoln will begin strike action this week over bullying and adverse management practices.  The first planned day of industrial action will take place on Wednesday 24th April and further days are planned for the 1st and 2nd May.

NASUWT members have endured a pattern of bullying that has affected the health, safety and welfare of teachers. Strike action is the last resort to restore a safe and supportive atmosphere to the school.

NASUWT General Secretary Dr Patrick Roach said:

“Safety at work is a basic requirement in any job. It is utterly unacceptable that teachers at Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School are expected to work in a toxic atmosphere of bullying contributing to high levels of stress and anxiety.

“Standing up to workplace bullying is never easy. NASUWT is proud of its courageous members at Sir Francis Hill and will support them every step of the way as they fight for their right to work in a safe and supportive environment.”
