The NASUWT expresses its continuing solidarity with teachers, other public sector workers and human rights activists as thousands of teachers have been dismissed or arbitrarily arrested on unsubstantiated charges by the Turkish Government following the failed military coup in July 2016.
The NASUWT supports the concerns raised by teachers' trade unions, including Egitim Sen, and other public sector workers about proposed constitutional amendments on the grounds that they threaten the state.
We urge the UK Government to exert pressure on Turkey to end the attacks.
